Blocked Sink...

Domestos?  Does it work?

Not the most compelling of blogs I'm afraid, but hey it may give someone an idea.

Noticed last night that the sink wasn't draining water away, I assumed a muck blockage and proceeded to plunge like a mad man.  Several plunges later and a sore arm the blockage was still there.  I then decided to try the 'yell at it', which only made the cat look at me strangely.  We've had some pretty cold weather lately so I did wonder if it could be frozen, so I ran some boiling water down with no effect. Poured salt down, again no effect.  I gave up and poured hot water into the sink, placed a bowl of boiling water under the inside pipes and ran towels around the outer ones, then went to bed.

Came down this morning to no effect...  I decided to put my faith in chemical science and popped into the supermarket (dodging fat people nattering).  Grabbed some of that Domestos sink unblocker and proceeded to use it on the sink - nothing.  All it does is sit there, doesn't even budge - and at £4 it should unbottle itself and jump down the plug hole for me; alas no I still have a blocked sink.  I suppose it can work well if you don't have a small village down your plughole...

I'm sure you're reading with baited breath, just dying to know how I have cleared this problem.  Well I haven't, it's still blocked and I have a shedload of washing up to do.  I flattly refuse to call a plumber, I'd rather do it myself than pay one of those over priced water monkeys.  Anyhoo I'll figure something out, may have to remove the pipes and clear them manually.

Toodles and have a good day all, oh and those of you with snow, be careful!
